Lending a hand to BBBS thrift store

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Niagara recently held a grand re-opening of their thrift store and welcomed guests within the community. The non-profit received a grant from the Niagara Community Foundation to renovate their social enterprise the Nearly New Thrift Store – and Habitat for Humanity Niagara ReStore’s Salvage Manager, Jeff Badger, was there to lend a hand.

“They needed a new cash desk and a small bathroom renovation, and I had time in between kitchen removals to help them out,” explains Jeff.

Jeff provided skilled labour to build the desk from scratch and renovate the volunteer bathroom, which helped to make this project a success and they couldn’t have been happier.

BBBS of Niagara’s thrift store is run by volunteers and proceeds go back into the BBBS mentoring program to help children across Niagara.
