A starry celebration

Volunteers are integral to the work Habitat does across Niagara. We share the common goal of making safe and decent housing accessible to all, and together, we are helping local families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.

National Volunteer Week is a week to express our gratitude for our amazing volunteers and supporters. Whether you’ve donated you time, resources, or voice you are an invaluable part of the Habitat for Humanity community.

Thank you to all our volunteers for your dedication and commitment to our mission!

During National Volunteer Week our future homeowner’s wrote notes of thanks to our volunteers and our volunteers received home baked house cookies because we love our volunteers! We also celebrated our volunteers at our Night Under the Stars Volunteer Dinner and Awards Ceremony and would like to congratulate the following volunteers who were award recipients.

Construction Crew Star and Habitat Canada’s Volunteer Award recipient – Michael Ennamorato

Since 2018, Michael Ennamorato has been a familiar face at the Habitat for Humanity Niagara build sites, from the early stages of construction right up to the last-minute rush to get a home ready for its new family. We can always count on Michael to be there when we need him.

Our construction team greatly appreciates Michael’s solid understanding of construction, commitment to safety, and dedication to Habitat’s mission. Michael was recently made a Construction Crew Lead to support our Build Day program and ensure participants have a great experience. He’s a pleasure to have on the build site, always takes the time to do things well, and ensures that others around him are learning and engaged.

Habitat Niagara’s build program relies on our valuable volunteers for support, with two homes completed in 2022 and five planned in 2023. We literally couldn’t do it without Michael and our crew of incredible volunteers.
