Homes #44 & 45 - St. Catharines, Community Build (2015)
Habitat for Humanity Niagara’s 44th & 45th homes are now complete! Built with the tremendous support of local sponsors and supporters, this two-unit, semi-detached home was constructed in three months thanks to community volunteers, trades and construction partners.
Over 100 volunteers donated their time on the build site helping construct these homes from start to finish.
Moving into 38&40A Tasker Street are two families with a total of 10 children. Both families have emigrated from Sudan, making the courageous decision to start again in a new country in order to provide the best life possible for their children. In Canada, they have found freedom and equality and now thanks to Habitat’s homebuilding program, a safe and permanent place to call home.
“Having a Habitat home will give us a brighter future, enable us to focus on our children’s education and not have to worry about moving again.”remarked Mohamed Ramram, whose family will be moving into 38 Tasker Street today.
