Home #49 - Port Colborne Community Renovation (2015 - 2016)

I M G 0816. J P G

Irene Cadot and her twin boys are the proud new homeowners of this beautifully renovated home in Port Colborne!

Both boys have autism and providing a safe and stable home is a priority for Irene. “The boys do not have the same sense of safety as other children. Where we live now, they cannot go out to play without me. The Bell Street neighbourhood is quiet and family friendly."

The two-story house at 320 Bell Street was the childhood home of John and Stephen Miklosik. The brothers knew of Habitat’s work in the community and decided to donate the home to honour their parents, John and Zuzanna. The house is structurally sound with a strong foundation, which makes it a perfect fit for Habitat Niagara’s inaugural Renovation Build.

The house was renovated with the help of community individuals and businesses.
