Home #42 - Niagara Falls, Community Build (2014)

D S C 0497 Reized

Home #42 for Habitat for Humanity Niagara is complete! Built with the tremendous support of our Niagara community, this new home was constructed in just over two months thanks to community volunteers, trades and construction partners.

As part of Habitat’s Adopt-a-Day program, over 150 volunteers built this 3-bedroom, 1033-square foot home on Rosedale Drive in Niagara Falls for Habitat Partner Family, the Kortens.

Bernie and Kristy Korten and their two young children Violet and Benjamin can hardly contain their excitement about moving into their new home. Kristy commented, “To us, home is a place where everyone is welcome. We are so excited to have a place of our own to host family gatherings, give out Halloween candy, put up a Christmas tree and have a yard for our kids to play in.”

Habitat would like to thank our major sponsors and partners for their generous support and contributions: Constellation Brands, City of Niagara Falls, Walton Development & Management, Niagara Region, Niagara Regional Housing, The Home Depot, The Home Depot Canada Foundation, United Way of Niagara Falls and Greater Fort Erie, Sleep Cheap Charities Reap, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Ontario Power Generation, Rotary Club of Niagara Falls, Cotton Inc., Zonta Club of Niagara Falls, and Morse & Son Funeral Home. Habitat Niagara would also like to thank the many build partners that made this home a reality!
